Guido J. Faiola 87 an honored veteran of World War II and devoted husband father and grandfather died Saturday morning at his home in Ormond Beach. A beloved family man who co-owned and operated Faiola Brothers Imports a Connecticut foreign sports car dealership Guido leaves behind Mary (Arbelo) Faiola his wife of 45 years his daughters Christine Reed of Ringoes N.J. Maria Phillips of South Windsor Ct and his son Anthony Faiola of London England. Guido shared his ample love with his grandchildren nieces and nephews.
Born in Mamaroneck N.Y. to Vinanzio and Maryann (Rivera) of San Ambrogio Italy Guido bravely served in the 191st Port Company in World War II stationed in North Africa and Southern Europe and fighting in the Battle of Anzio. Injured in the war he went on as a disabled veteran to build the car business in Connecticut and later endeavored in Florida real estate before retiring in the 1980s. The eldest and last surviving of four brothers Guido was always kind loving and generous. His family will sorely miss him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday; January 31st between the hours of 4-7 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday; February 1st at 10 am at St. Brendan's Catholic Church; 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd. Ormond Beach. Interment with military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
