Grossett G.L. "Woody" Blackwood, Sr., 79, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away, March 7, 2015 at Florida Hospital Oceanside. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th between the hours of 5-8 pm at Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church; 105 Amsden Rd. Ormond Beach. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12th at the church.
Grossett was born March 17, 1935 in Malvern-St. Elizabeth Jamaica, WI, to Gerald and Miriam Blackwood.
Woody was a Production Manager at various companies in New York and retired from Entenmann's Bakery in Miami in 1992, then relocated to Volusia County in 1993 from Miami, Florida.
He was a member of the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, baking, cooking, especially for his children and serving the homeless at Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann "Annie" Blackwood, Ormond Beach, three sons, Grossett (Marleen) Blackwood, Jr, Miami, FL, Robert (Laura, DVM) Blackwood, MD, Las Vegas, NV, Paul (Joo Kim, MD), Blackwood, MD, Ormond Beach, two daughters, Charlene Blackwood, Margate, FL and Amy Blackwood, New York, NY. He is also survived by two brothers, Churchill and Hoover Blackwood both of Jamaica, and five grandchildren, Frankie, Spencer, Brian, Breanna, and Aiden. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Grossett's memory to the Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army or Second Harvest Food Bank
