It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Walter Morse announces her passing. Grace was 93 and passed peacefully at her home at Ponce Inlet. She was the eldest daughter of Alvah C. and M Elizabeth Griffith of Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania. She had a wonderful sister Jane.

Grace was an accomplished student athlete at Lower Merion high school. Upon graduation Grace enrolled in nurses training. While in nurses training she met and married William Walter. They started their family there and transferred through Washington DC to Jacksonville Florida.

Grace's truthful and honest nature created many close family friends in the Jacksonville area. She was an outstanding and supportive mother to her children Steven and Susan. She always made time to share with family and friends in Jacksonville. She enjoyed golf and surf fishing with her friends. It was easy to spot her at an equestrian or sporting event where her children participated.

Grace was amazingly creative. It was not unusual to come home from school as a child and find a painted mural on living room wall or hand painted Christmas gifts to friends on dining room table. Always dinner was ready with a clean house and a smile.

She kept busy and creative after the kids left home and started their own lives. Career changes and retirement moved her from Jacksonville to Tallahassee and then St Augustine. With every move her network of friends and family grew. She cared for her both for her father and later her mother until their passing in St Augustine.

After the loss of her first husband Grace met and married William Morse. Grace and Bill eventually settled in Ponce Inlet. Her warm and GRACIOUS spirit touched many and her network of friends and family expanded there. Bill passed in 2022. Her spirit and energy was an abundant source of inspiration to everyone in her life.

After a brief illness and stay at Halifax Hospital , Grace went home and passed peacefully in the care of family and hospice. She is survived by her son Steven, daughter Susan and granddaughter Jillian and niece Lucinda

She will be laid to rest on May 2 in a private ceremony at Bellevue Memorial Cemetery.
