Gotthilf "Gody" Huber, 96 of Daytona Beach passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2014.
A "Celebration of Life" ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., at Central Baptist Church, 152 Fairview Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Following the service there will be a reception at the church.
Gody was born on October 26, 1917 in Kilchberg, Switzerland to the late Emma (Eggler) and Gotthilf Huber. Gody worked for many years as an auto mechanic and tool maker for the Hirschman Corporation on Long Island, New York. Gody was a past president of the Swiss Club of Daytona Beach.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Hansueli Huber; Emmy Massuger; and his beloved wife of 53 years, Ida Huber.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Esther Lawless; Doris Scott; sons in law, Jack Lawless; Jim Scott; sister, Ruth Haupt; Grandchildren, Roseann Desiderio, Christina Cantrell, Bob Desiderio, Rick Mattaway, Keri Smith; step grandchildren, Cynthia Hosey, Deborah Roberts; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; dear friends, Dr. Gohar Khan; Fred Desiderio; and Maya Taveri. He also leaves behind many extended family members in Switzerland and Berlin.
