Gordon Earl Stafford 89, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2015 at Halifax Hospice of Port Orange. He was born on February 26, 1926 in Paradise, NY the son of the late Earl and Stella Kramer Stafford. He married the former Janet Kling in 1947.

Earl graduated with a BS degree from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma and started work with General Electric in Utica, NY. After a long career, he retired to Daytona Beach. He loved to read, travel, was an avid NASCAR fan and a timer for over 30 years. He also was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Janet; one daughter Ellen (Paul) Nelson of Big Canoe Georgia; six grandchildren, Erin Harper Nelson, Michael (Carla) Nelson, Matthew (Katie) Nelson, Brent Nelson, Elizabeth Hannah and Alex Hannah; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Evan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Stafford; and a brother Glenn Stafford.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Westminster By the Sea Presbyterian Church, 3221 South Peninsula Drive, Daytona Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider Halifax Hospice of Port Orange. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
