Gordon Andrew Smith Sr. age 82 passed away Tuesday May 24th at Ormond Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach. A Funeral Service for Gordon will be Friday May 27th at 8:00pm at the Atlantic Coast Community Church 1212 Conrad Drive New Smyrna FL. His family will receive friends at the church from 4:00pm to 7:30 on Friday. Gordon was born in Huntington New York and moved to Florida in 1974. He lived in Oak Hill for 16 years and recently moved to Holly Hill to be closer to his family. Gordon was the owner/operator of a backhoe co. and a nursery. After retiring in 1975 he continued with his long love of horticulture. Gordon was a Volunteer Fireman for the Greenlawn Fire Department in NY for 29 years. His main focus was on his family. He loved them dearly. Gordon also enjoyed NASCAR racing. Gordon was pre-deceased by his brother Leslie and sister Barbara. He is survived by his son Gordon Smith Jr. and his wife Maria of Ormond Beach his daughters Linda Darcy and Steve of Miller Place NY and Lauren Steller and her husband George of Centerport NY and grandchildren Dustin Darcy and Jacqueline Steller. He is also survived by his brothers Burt Smith of San Diego CA and Howard Smith of Bellevue WA and his sisters Ellen Edwards of Ormond Beach FL and Mabel Stuart of Orlando FL.
