Funeral Services for Gordon A. Mahnke age 79 of Palm Coast will be held on Friday May 12 2006 at 2 PM in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 PM until service time. Mr. Mahnke passed away at Sam?s Assisted Living facility in Palm Coast on Tuesday May 9 2006.
He was born in Waukesha Wisconsin on March 2 1927 to George R. & Vernetta Hertensteiner Mahnke. He was a graduate of North Central College in Naperville IL with a degree in Philosophy. Mr. Mahnke worked as an accountant running his own business for many years. He moved to Palm Coast from Downers Grove IL in 1993. Mr. Mahnke was very giving of his time to others; he and his wife volunteered for the Special Olympics R.S.V.P. the Y.M.C.A. and others. Mr. Mahnke was also a very active Rotarian and member of .
Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ellen who passed in 2004. Left to cherish his memories are his children James G. Mahnke of Phoenix AZ Karen Egner of Woodstock GA & Mariann Mahnke of Palm Coast; grandchildren Nick Jonathan Tyler Joshua & Caleb; and sister Loucille Lee of Jupiter FL
