Gordon Richard Hackworth , age 87, of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on March 7, 2022. "Richard" was born January 29, 1935 to Adam and Nellie Hackworth in Portsmouth, OH. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1954 and served in the Korean War in Japan. He began his Transit career as a bus operator in Norfolk, VA in 1957 and retired as Operations Manager in 1992. After retirement he joined his wife to operate their Jackson Hewitt Tax Service offices in VA and FL. He moved to the Daytona Beach area in 2017.

Richard was a member of the Norview Masonic Lodge No. 113 in Norfolk, VA for over 50 years and the Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bernice and Geneva. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Hackworth, his daughter Mary Woodford and his son in law William Woodford of Ormond Beach. Services will be held at Lohman Funeral Home in Ormond Beach. Visitation will be on Friday March 18 from 3-5 pm with the Memorial Service on Saturday March 19 at 11 am followed by a luncheon in the Reception room.
