Gloria Alamo Hernandez, age 69, of Sanford went to her heavenly reward on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, 2012. A funeral service in her honor will be held; 12:00 pm Thursday, May 17, at the Deltona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wed. 5 at 7:00 PM.

Gloria was born in Puerto Rico to Evangellista and Juana Hernandez. She dedicated her life to the service of others as a Social Worker for Lakewood Township, NJ and Winter Park, FL. As an active member, treasurer and visitor of the sick, with Eternal Gospel Free Seventh Day Adventist Church, she led many to the Lord. She was a strong, creative, loving woman who spent many pleasurable hours reading the word, cooking for her family and in the study of alternative medicine.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Al Alamo, 6 sons: Freddie (Maria), Alex (Omaira) Eddie (Evelyn), David (Isa) Joel (Melissa) and Jeffrey (Evelyn) Mendez, a daughter; Jackie (Jamie) Ramirez, 3 sisters: Angie Maldonado, Nelida Velez and Bene Rosario, 4 brothers: Evangellista, William and Luis Hernandez and Neco Rosario, 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many loving extended family, friends and church family.
