Funeral Services for Gloria C. Garcia M.D. age 89 of Ormond Beach who died Wednesday February 8 2006 at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial will be Saturday February 11 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday February 11 2006 in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
Dr. Garcia was born December 10 1916 in Guantanamo Cuba to Manuel and Juana Tello-Del Toro Castillo ? Hmaro and moved to this area in 1998 from Miami FL. Gloria graduated from the University of Havanna School of Medicine in 1944. She was the Asst. Professor of Pathology at the University of Havana from 1945 to 1960. She worked for the Dept. of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service of Miami where she examined refugees from 1960 to 1968. She then worked with her husband Pablo Garcia SR. M.D. in his medical practice from 1968 until his retirement in 1982. Gloria was a member of the Los Pulpos Club of Miami where she served as Past-President. She enjoyed playing poker dancing and traveling.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Pablo Garcia Sr. M.D.
She is survived by 3 sons Justo Perez of Jacksonville FL George Garcia of Miami FL and Pablo Garcia Jr.MD of Ormond Beach FL. A sister Margarita Castillo of Havana Cuba 7 grandchildren Nicole Sofia Camilo George Natanya of Miami FL Katie and Jackie of Ormond Beach.
