Glenn Herbert Brower, 91, World War II Navy Veteran, served in the South Pacific as an Aviation Machinist Mate, passed away March 8, 2015.
He was born May 9, 1923 to Charles Hurlburt Brower and Gladys Davis (Boyd) Brower in Seneca Falls, N.Y. On December 20, 1945 he married Alice Virginia Trader at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Elmira, N.Y. He was a Past Commander of American Legion Post 21 in Chicago, Illinois and was awarded a Lifetime membership. He also was a Lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 2 of Edgewater, Florida. He had enjoyed motorcycling, golf and sailing. Sailing being his passion, he was very active with the Catalina 22 Sailing Club of Chicago. Graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, moved to Chicago and worked in the graphic arts industry until retiring in 1985.
Survived by his wife Alice Trader Brower for 69 years, children, daughter Virginia Lou (Michael) Underwood, son Stephen Charles (Jody) Brower and daughter Roberta Brower (Curt) Johnson. Grandchildren, Michael G., Kristen A. and Stephanie N. Great Grandchildren, Aiden, Alexa, Allison, AnnaRose, Charlotte, Nathan and Owen.
Service to be held at St. Paul Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, Florida at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2015. At 12:15pm a Military Honor Guard Service will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Park, at 1811 S. Riverside Park.
