Gertrude (Betty) Ferguson 90 passed away on February 14 2011. There will be a memorial service Thursday February 24 2011 5pm at the LOHMAN FUNERAL HOME PORT ORANGE 1201 Dunlaw-ton Ave. Port Orange. Betty was born and raised in Duluth Minnesota on April 14 1920. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and then earned her Masters degree from Stetson University. Betty worked and traveled all over the world beginning in Brazil. She moved to Ormond Beach in 1962 and taught at Holly Hill Elementary until she retired in 1982. Her passions in her life were painting teaching and travelling. She recently visited Dubai Ras-al Khaimeh and Oman. Betty is survived by daughters: Patricia Whitney and Virginia Gawthorpe; and son: Douglas Ferguson. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Kayle Fisher Steven and Tyler Gawthorpe.
