Obituary

Tilly was born February 6 1917 in Zwolle The Netherlands. She died peacefully but unexpectedly on March 5 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Berend Timmy and six siblings. After becoming a teacher Tilly found her real calling as a nurse for the ?Red Cross? during World War II. While she was a nurse she was able to assist in the Dutch underground movement. After the war she moved to Indonesia where she again worked for the ?Red Cross? as a nurse. She married and had two children. She returned to The Netherlands after her husband died in a terrorist attack while managing a rubber and tea plantation. She dedicated her life to her family and was known for her upbeat happy nature and was always willing to help others. She loved to travel and visit many exotic places in Europe. After her daughter moved to Ormond Beach 24 years ago this became Tilly?s favorite place where she spent her winters for 22 years. She is survived by her daughter Laurentia Lucas son-in-law Dr. Kenneth J. Lucas her grandson Jeroen all of Ormond Beach FL; son Hans Timmerman daughter-in-law Riekje granddaughters Anouk and Eline all of Lemelerveld Neth.
