IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geraldine
Jacques
November 27, 1930 – January 7, 2024
Geraldine Ford Jacques of Palm Coast, Fla, died peacefully in her home on January 7, 2024 after a brief decline in her health at the age of 93.
Gerry was born in Concord, N.H. November 27, 1930 to Kenneth and Jean (Hokenson) Ford. She was raised in Concord along with her four siblings and graduated from Concord High School. She also attended Boston University after graduation.
In 1951 she married Albert Jacques, they were married for 58 years until Albert's death in 2011. They moved several times before settling in Keene, NH to raise their family. Her longest career before retiring was with the IRS as a Taxpayer Service Rep in the Keene office.
Gerry and Al found Newfound Lake, NH in the 50's and eventually purchased Mocha Cottages in Bridgewater. It was here they hosted family and friends, volunteered and spent every summer weekend with their grandchildren as they were growing up. She would be seen walking Rt 3A to Newfound Grocery every morning for her coffee. In 2005 they moved to Florida finding Palm Coast suited them best.
Gerry was known to have pretty much all the attributes that allowed her to live a long and engaged life. Never stopped learning, loved to be socially active, volunteered, was always fashionably dressed, the host of many occasions, fun, funny, inquisitive and resilient to name a few. She stayed active playing golf well in to her 80's. Most of all she loved her family and had many friends new and old whom she kept in touch with.
IN HER LIFE: Geraldine is survived by her beloved daughter Cynthia Willett and husband David of Florida, son Michael W. Jacques and wife Deborah of New Hampshire; and grandsons Ian Jacques of Gilsum and Peter Jacques and wife Natalia of Rhode Island. Her brothers Ron Ford and wife Beverly, Doug Ford and wife Gail, sister Joyce Foley and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert; son Steven; sister Barbara Ford and brother-in-Law Paul Foley.
Services will be held in the spring and internment will be at the NH State Veteran's Cemetery.
