Gerald A. Lechner of Ormond Beach passed away September 24th with his wife of 51 years at his side. Jerry was born in Sandusky OH September 30 1937. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Heidleberg University he went on to become the Chief of Police in Sandusky OH and later became the City Manager. Jerry and his wife moved to Ormond Beach from Sandusky OH in 2005. He will be remembered as having a positive attitude being a great provider and for being a loving husband father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all. Jerry is survived by Sue his loving wife; daughter Leslie Kill of Ormond Beach; grandson Levi Kill of Columbus OH; granddaughter Alexis Kill of Ormond Beach; brothers Bob (Dolores) Joiner of Sandusky OH and Raymond (Maggie) Lechner of Punta Gorda FL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his brothers Jack Joiner and James Lechner; granddaughter Hillary Kill. Services will be held October 18th in Sandusky. A Memorial Scholarship is being set up in his honor. Donations can be made in his name to Kelly Kresser at 406 Cove Street Sandusky OH 44870.
