Gerald R. Fox Sr. 83 of Ormond Beach FL passed away on February 21 2010 at Oceanside Memorial Hospice Ormond Beach FL. Mr. Fox was born in New Haven CT. the son of Marion and Howard F. Fox Sr. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield CT in 1944 and Georgetown University in 1948. He lived in New Haven CT. Baltimore MD. and for 37 years in Whippany NJ. before moving to Ormond Beach FL in 1992. Mr. Fox retired in 1988 as an Account Executive Vice President with Marsh & McLennan Inc. NY NY. Prior to Marsh & McLennan Mr. Fox worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Maryland and New Jersey. He was a member of Spring Brook Country Club NJ. River Bend Golf Club FL. and a current member of Oceanside Country Club Ormond Beach FL. He spent many years as a golf ranger at River Bend Golf Club and a volunteer for The Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of St. Brendan's Church Ormond Beach FL. He is survived by his wife Mary to whom he was a devoted husband of nearly 60 years his daughter Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Birch and her husband James of Dover NJ his son Gerald R. Fox Jr. and his wife Meredith of Denville NJ and his daughter Patricia A. Gale of Whippany NJ. his grandchildren Brian Birch Meghan Mettlen Shaun Birch Ryan Birch Collin Birch (presently serving his 4th term with the US Army in Iraq) Caitlyn Birch Connor Birch Alyson Collins Ryan Gale and his Great Grandchildren Kaleigh Brody Corey Victoria Dylan and Nina. Visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd on Wednesday February 24 2010 from 2pm until 6pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday February 25 2010 at St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church 1000 Ocean Shore Boulevard Ormond Beach.
