George "Jack" Spratt, 93, of Port Orange, Florida entered into eternal rest at 12:59 a.m. on Saturday October 1, 2016 at Spruce Creek Assisted Living. George was born on July 23, 1923 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Gladys (Boyer) Spratt. On September 15, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ednamaye (Houghland) Spratt, who preceded him in death in 2008. George served from July 1941 to January 1942 in the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps, from which he was honorably discharged. In June 1942, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he served until his honorable discharge in December 1945. George worked for United Technologies Norden Systems for 33 years. After retiring, he then volunteered for 18 years at the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
He was predeceased by three sisters, and is survived by one sister, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 at 12:00 PM with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service, at The Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Daytona Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.
