George R. Reve Port Orange Florida
George R. Reve 102 of Port Orange passed away Friday October 29 2010. A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 3 2010 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach from 1pm until 2pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 2pm with ReverandDonald Whalen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Funeral Home where the family will receive guests.
George was born August 16 1908 in Lindenhurst New York to the late James H. Reve and Ella Walters.George began his career working in New York for The Krug Baking Company as a salesman. Mr. Reve and his family later moved to the Port Orange area in 1950 where they opened a small grocery store. After selling the family business Mr. Reve worked as a meter reader for the Port Orange Water Company and later retired as a Port Orange Bridge Tender in 1972.
George was a family man but most importantly a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and watching Yankee Baseball and spending time with those he loved.
At age 94 Mr. Reve was called and reported to Jury Duty which was a funny story that made headline news and brought great joy to Mr. Reve. He will be greatly missed by many and by those who were touched by his life.
He leaves behind his loving daughters Arlene "Ali" Allison and Lois Reve seven grandchildren six great grandchildren three great great grand children and many extended family members and friends.
George is preceded in death by his parents James and Ella Reve Brothers James Ray and Frank sisters Violet Ann and Emily daughter Joan Coleman and grandchildren Terry and Jerry Allison.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange Florida.
