Obituary

George N. Cooper of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday July 2 nd, 2021 at Bishops Glen Senior Living Center.

He was born February 4, 1927 in Long Island, New York to Alexander and Jeanetta Cooper.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  After the war he got his degree at NYU and began his career in the foodservice industry.

He was an active resident at Bishops Glen serving on several Resident Council committees and participated in numerous events but, his biggest passion was singing in the chapel choir as one of the back row boys.

He is survived by his son, Greg Cooper (Cheryl), grandchildren Maria Morris (Chuck), George R. Cooper (Sam), Alec Cooper (Alana), Katy Baker and great granddaughter Lydia Morris.  He is also survived by his sister Karyl Turner.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Isabel (Ronnie) Cooper.  Also preceded by son George F. Cooper and daughter in law Iris Cooper, brothers Bill and Lee, and his sister Beverly Harris.

His funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 10, 2021, with visitation prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.  Burial service will be held on Monday July 12, 10:30 AM at Daytona Memorial Park.  Memorial condolences may be submitted here via our online guestbook.
