George Richard Lockett, 80, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on July 19, 2024. George "Buddy" Lockett, son of George and Naomi Lockett, loving husband of Winnie Lasser Lockett passed away on July 19, 2024 in Palm Coast after a long battle with Parkinson and Dementia.

He is survived by his wife Winnie of 60 years, and two daughters, Diane and Holly and son George W. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren – Christopher, Jacqui, John Pual, Joshua, Megan, Justin, George D. and 6 great grandchildren – Mathew, Peyton, Emma, Haddie, James, Madison. George did many jobs over his lifetime, but his proudest employment, was as a machinist supervisor, for RCA, doing work on the camera systems for the Apollo space missions. Retiring to Florida, George became a Deacon and Treasure at the Church of the Cross in Sarasota Florida, and he enjoyed volunteering in a variety of areas. As a coach for Miss Sarasota Softball, Sarasota Ringling Redskins Youth Football, Sarasota Sun Devils Pop Warner Youth Football; additionally he gave time and his experience with the Venota Nation Youth Indian Guides, Desoto County Memorial Hospital, Desoto County Habitat for Humanity, and the past 8 years with Washington Oaks State Park. He had hobbies of writing, drawing, painting, and support his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren achieve their dreams. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but all will smile knowing that George is in heaven with God using his favor saying, when asked what is on the schedule for today, he would always reply "Big Doings"!
