George Lee Ellett 68 of Ormond Beach passed away on July 13 2011 at Florida Hospital Oceanside. He was born in Andover New Jersey on November 15 1942 to Leo and Emma Ellett. George was an X-Ray Technologist a gifted guitar player and singer. He performed at the Grand Ole Opry Jamboree USA and Jamboree in the Hills. George is best remembered for his number 1 hit "Stranger on the Bridge" and "Christmas Shoes". He and his wife have been residents of Volusia County since 1980 relocating from Wheeling W. Virginia. He was a member of the NRA enjoyed cooking fishing and NASCAR. George is survived by his wife of 32 years Jeryl Ellett Ormond Beach his son Ty (Jessica) Ellett Ormond Beach his granddaughter Briana Ellett Ormond Beach mother-in-law Marian Edington St. Clairsville Ohio brother-in-law Homer Edington Port Orange FL a sister Margaret in Oklahoma . He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law. Family and friends will be received Monday July 18th between 6-8 pm with a memorial service at 7:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home 733 W.
