George Edward DeSotle, 86, of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Oakland NJ, entered into eternal rest on September 14th. Devoted husband to Cecilia Godfrey for 61 years, beloved father of George DeSotle and his wife Sue, MarySue Corsale and her husband Tom, John DeSotle and his wife Grace, Robert DeSotle and his wife Birgit, Cecilia Cortina and her husband Joe, James DeSotle and his wife Jen, and grandfather of Steven Corsale, Shanna Wheeler, TinaMarie & Gabriella Cortina, Meghan, Westley, Rob, Sarah, Derek, Jordan & Tyler DeSotle.
George, a parishioner at Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange, FL, served in the Army Air Corps 5th Air Force during World War II, and worked for Eastman Kodak in Fair Lawn, NJ for 37 years. He was an avid golfer with 7 Holes in One and the oldest documented amateur to have a Double Eagle, former member of Bowling Green Golf Club and member of Crane Lakes Golf Club.
A Memorial Service will be held at Veteran's Park, 1 Veteran Dr (Ramapo Valley Rd), Oakland, NJ on Sunday at noon.
