Obituary

George Richard Dallas went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 31, 2014. George lived a long, fulfilling life surrounded by many relatives and friends. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 20, 1929 and lived off and on in the Daytona area for many years.

He was a member of Pelican Bay Country Club and a former member of Ridglea Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas. He served our country in the Air Force in Korea. An excellent businessman, George began his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance in Daytona Beach, rising to district manager in Fort Worth, Texas, for over 25 years. After retiring he started Ridglea Insurance Agency in Fort Worth before relocating back to Daytona Beach in 1995. George was an avid golfer for over 60 years with a single digit handicap for many of those years and four holes-in-one to his credit. He loved to travel and spend time playing cards with his family and friends.

He was so fortunate to be married to two wonderful women, Sella and Eileen, both of which he loved dearly. George is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Eileen, his son, David; and, grandson, Joey Dallas. He is survived by his wife Sella Dallas and his son Terry and wife Kristi Dallas of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Dr. John Dallas and wife Pauline, and great grandson, Will, of Austin, Texas; Haylee Dallas and fiance Preston Edwards, of Dallas, Texas; Clayton and Ava Dallas of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, June Edwards of South Daytona Beach; Sella's family, Petra Glover, Heidi McDonald, Sabrina Hagan along with their husbands and children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers please make donations to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
