Genevieve Z. Dixon 87 died with her son at her side after a long illness on Wednesday October 20 2009 at Memorial Medical Center Daytona Beach. Mass will be held in her honor Friday October 30 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange FL. She was born March 29 1922 in Elizabeth New Jersey and moved to the Daytona area in 1956. Known to her friends as ""Jean"" and her family as ""Genia she was a loving and devoted wife the greatest mother three kids could ask for and a good natured friend who could always make you laugh. She worked with Sears in Daytona Beach for many years and spent her retirement years living in Altamonte Springs Florida with her husband Jim Dixon. After his passing in 2000 she returned to live closer to family in Port Orange. She is survived by three children Betty Jean Brown McDonough GA Dodie Kreitner Buford GA and Jim (Skip) Dixon Jr. Daytona Beach; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of remembrances donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Port Orange. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach.
