Gene Paul King age 85 of Ormond Beach passed from this world into Jesus' arms on February 5 2009 at home with his loving wife and family present. A Visitation for Mr. King will be held on Monday February 9 2009 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel. A Holy Mass will be offered on Tuesday February 10 2009 12:00 p.m. at Basilica of St. Paul Daytona Beach FL with the Reverend Timothy Daly officiating. A Committal ceremony will follow at St. Mary's of Korona Cemetery Korona FL with an Honor Guard Ceremony.

Mr. King a native of Scranton Pennsylvania was a graduate of the University of Scranton PA with continued studies at George Washington University Washington D.C. He retired to St. Augustine FL in 1978 with his wife and family after 31 years with the Federal Aviation Administration and Bureau of the Census as Statistical Publications Administrator and Editor. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp and after his European Theater Experiences he was an Army Infantry Drill Instructor and an Army Hospital Post Office Manager.

Mr. King is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Helen Gross King originally of Philadelphia PA. and nine children of whom he was so proud; Steven King (Linda) City Attorney of Fallen NV Jennifer King Edelman (Richard) Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Hanover County Ashland VA Jeffrey King (Valerie) Delta Airlines Captain Marietta GA Susan King Arieux (Raymond) Retired Accountant Ormond Beach FL Daniel King (Deneen) General Manager of Hyatt Regency Hotel Jacksonville FL Patricia King Marketing Manager for Colony Insurance Richmond VA Christopher King (Kathleen) General Manager of Publix Supermarket Elkton FL Veronica King Wiles (Christian) Teacher the Steward School Glenn Allen VA and Constance King Occupational Therapist Regional Director of Operations Innovative Senior Care Ormond Beach FL. He is also survived by his sister Ann J. King Manhattan NY and received great joy from his 24 grandchildren three great grandchildren many nephews and nieces and their families.
