A Memorial Service for General Carl Vernon Cash 90 of Palm Coast FL who passed away peacefully on Friday March 7 2008 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice will be held at 4:00pm Thursday March 13 2008 at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW Palm Coast FL with the family receiving friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm prior to the service. General Cash was born on October 5 1917 in Urbana Illinois. General Cash was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941 as a Private E-1. He retired from the Army on January 31 1973 having held all military ranks - Non Commissioned Officer (Private to Sergeant Major) Warrant Officer and Officer ranks (2nd Lieutenant to Brigadier General). General Cash's award and decorations include four Legions of Merit and the Distinguished Service Medal. Carl and his wife Elaine are among the first couples to settle in Palm Coast. They bought their current home on the old Palm Harbor golf course in 1973. This was their home for the past 35 years. Carl loved his family and the game of golf more than anything else. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Elaine; his son John Cash and his wife Tina of Fuquay-Varina NC; and his three daughters: Patricia Bligh and her husband Paul of Scotch Plains NJ Colleen Silano and her husband Reverend Charles (Charlie) of Palm Coast & Amanda Cash of Palm Coast; and his three grandchildren: Ryan Cash of Raleigh NC Michael Bligh of Scotch Plains NJ and Megan Cash of Palm Coast.
