Memorial Service for Garret Hiers Jr. age 89 of Daytona Beach who passed away Sunday March 25 2007 at Halifax Medical Center will be Friday March 30 2007 at 3:00 PM at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach Street Daytona Beach with Reverend Bob Moorehead officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM -3:00 PM.

Garret was born in New York City on September 27 1917 to Garret Hiers Sr. and Clara. He served in the US Army in Infantry in WWII and graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington Virginia. Garret moved here in 1987 from Philadelphia and retired after thirty years as a Sales Executive from National Lead Company. He was a member of the Pelican Bay Country Club and was an avid golfer he also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Garret is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years Marion his son Craig C. Hiers Houston TX his daughter Lee Hiers Philadelphia PA a stepson William Ellmaker Berwyn PA a stepdaughter Carla Godshall Schwenksville PA nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
