Gail Lauren Keating 62 of Daytona Beach left the confinements of this world and accepted the embrace of her beloved husband Peter Keating in the next. Gail was born in Darby Pennsylvania and while attending the University of NH was crowned Miss Portsmouth in 1970. She graduated University of South Florida in 1972 with a degree in English Literature before moving to the Daytona area with her husband. She taught High School English briefly at Mainland High school before the birth of her son. She changed her career focus and worked alongside her husband in his law firm up until 2012. She was active in the Junior League in the 1980s and 1990s and helped develop the Discovery Center at the City Island Library. Gail was devoted to her family and is survived by Peter Keating Jr. (Angie) Lauren Keating Erin Greatrex (Ryan) Ann Jefferies (Bob) and Sue Sleboda (John). She was the exceedingly proud grandparent of five.
The family will receive friends on Monday July 22nd between 3~6 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Tuesday July 23rd at 11:00 am will be the graveside inurnment at Daytona Memorial Park 1425 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach.
