Gabriel Barragan 66 of Daytona Beach passed away on Sunday October 23 2011.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date in New York and Canada.

Gabriel was born in Femel France on November 1 1944 to the late Gabriel and Narcisse Barragan.

He was a renowned Chef and owner of many Restaurants in New York most recently The New Yorker. He specialized in French Cuisine but had a great love for all different styles of food.

Gabriel was a quiet man who enjoyed a simpler life. But for those who he shared his life with he was a true friend. He enjoyed sharing meals and stories over dinner and drinks. He had a love for animals especially his cats Alex Cathy and LuLu. Gabriel enjoyed sharing his love for cooking with his grandson Blake and his love for Wrestling with grandson Tyler.

He will be deeply missed by his loving son Patrick and his wife Linda Barragan of South Orange New Jersey; grandsons Blake and Tyler Barragan both of South Orange New Jersey; brother Jean-Pierre sister-in-law Solonge nephew Francis all of Montreal Canada; close friends and neighbors Charlie Marie and Linda.
