It is with great sadness that the family of Freeman L. Jones Jr. age 56 of Edna Drive Port Orange announces his passing on August 18 2006. He died with his wife Geraldine and daughter Crystal Harrison at his side in his home knowing that he was deeply loved and will be missed terribly. He was born on May 24 1950 in Harriman TN to Freeman L. and Callie Price Jones. He served his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged. ?Jr? as he was known was a self-employed contractor in the area and was always there for a friend or neighbor in need of help or a helping hand. After knowing Geraldine Downing for many years he married her on October 1 2005. In addition to his wife Geraldine Freeman is survived by his dog and true companion ?TAZ? ; a son Richard Jones and 2 daughters; Angela Pompa of Austin TX and Crystal Mark Harrison of Kennesaw GA. There are 3 grandchildren; Devin Pompa Taylor Jones and Shane Jones. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Paul Betty Jones and Cleatis Jones both of Sunbright TN and 5 sisters; Virginia Hamby Evelyn Hamby and Judy Conrad Cooper all of Sunbright TN and Velva Mae Floyd Park Ziegler of Bullsgap TN & Winifred Mayford Young of Maryville TN.
