Fredina DeLaVega, 80, of Palm Coast, FL passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014. A Visitation in her honor will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 5-7pm at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW, Palm Coast, FL. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11am at Palm Coast Bible Church, 94 Whiteview Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL. Burial will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Fredina was born in New York City, NY. There she met and married the love of her life, Feloteo "Floyd" DeLaVega. She was a loving mother to their 3 children. Fredina worked for Metropolitan Insurance Company for 44 years. She held various positions, from administrator to IT coordinator.
Fredina and Floyd loved to travel. They also loved bowling and were in leagues in NYC. Fredina enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was particularly proud of her African Dance performance at Carnegie Hall. Fredina and Floyd retired to Palm Coast 10 years ago. They became faithful members of the Palm Coast Bible Church. Fredina sang in the church choir.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Feloteo, by her son Nestor, by her daughters Stephanie and Belisa, and by her 8 grandchildren. Fredina was predeceased by her parents and 5 brothers.
