Frederick Thellman 74 of Ormond Beach entered into Eternity on Saturday August 9 2008. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday August 14th at 11:30am at First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach with Pastor Bill Owens officiating. His family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wed. August 13th at Lohman Funeral Home in Ormond Beach. Fred was born in Jacksonville FL on December 3 1933 and moved to Ormond Beach in the mid 1960's.He was a 1951graduate and valedictorian of Bolles Military Academy in Jacksonville. He then attended and graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge MA and Rollins College in Orlando FL. Fred had a successful career and a wealth of civic accomplishments in the Daytona Beach area. He served as President of Tomoka Consolidated Land Company and later joined NASCAR as a consultant for NASCAR Marine Division. He served as the President of the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce served on the Board of Barnett National Bank was the President of United Way of Volusia/Flagler and President of the Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District. He was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach a member of the church choir and was baptized and devoted to his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his loving companion Gloria Appell his children Frederick (Kelei) Thellman Jr. of St. Louis MO; Jannene Burdick of Phoenix AZ; and Cheryl (Duncan) Karcher of NYC NY; his extended family Kathy Appell of Ormond Beach FL and Richard (Lana) Appell of Venice FL; and his 11 grandchildren Zachary Frederick Parker Lawrence and Zoei G.G. Thellman; Natalie David and Christopher Burdick; Charlotte Mary Karcher; Carly and Colby Caldwell; and Eli and Rowan Warfield.
