Frederick Arthur Romig II, 72 of Ocala, went to be with the lord Sunday, January 5, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania January 7, 1941 and raised in Miami, Florida, he was a son of the late Frederick and Mary Plaisted Romig. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John, Chris, baby Chris and his sister Peggy.
Mr. Romig was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a programmer, mechanic, and retired as a system analyst from Mission Hospital in Asheville NC. Rick was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was know by family and friends as" The Great Racer" with best times at many circuits. After retirement, Mr. Romig moved to Ocala and became a member of College Road Baptist Church and enjoyed several years of spiritual enlightenment.
A devoted family man, he was a loving husband, father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Judith Eckler Romig; two daughters with late wife of 38 years, Anita Marie Fornataro Romig: Angela Lynn Romig Miller (husband David Thomas Miller), and Lisa Ann Romig ( husband Bryan Payne); Miller grandchildren David, Dale and Kristina; Miller great grandchildren Christopher and Kylie; and several nieces and nephews from late brother Chris and late sister Peggy.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 13th at Deland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Chapel of Peace, 600 Beresford Avenue with the Rev. Alan Cotney officiating.
