Frederick (Fred) W. Campbell loving husband of Jeanette J. Campbell, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born in Boston, MA on February 27, 1931 and was the son of the late Frederick and Beulah Campbell of Gorham, Maine where he was raised. He graduated from Gorham High School class of 1949 and went on to join the USMC and served in Korea in active combat. He met Jeanette in 1950 and they married on January 5, 1951. He started his career with Pratt & Whitney in August 1954 which brought his family to initially settle in Enfield, CT and later to East Hartford, CT where they raised their three children. Fred started out at Pratt as a welder and furthered himself with training offered by the company that led him to the manufacturing section and spent the last several years as a Divisional Superintendent, retiring in April 1986.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Don Campbell and his wife Kathi of Cotuit, MA, Rich Campbell of Pueblo, CO and daughter Kathy Kurniawan of East Hartford, CT. He also leaves his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Leone and their children Dillon and Olivia of Port Orange, FL, Megan and Steve Branda and their children Beau and Luke of Rochester, MN, Arie Kurniawan of Chicago, IL and Adam Kurniawan of Lansing, MI. He also leaves is sister-in-law, Dorothea Cloutier of Port Orange and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Fred and Jeanette enjoyed many happy years traveling to Europe, Southeast Asia and across the US in their retirement years. They met and made many good friends in their travels and their bonds stayed strong over the years. While they settled in Port Orange for their retirement their roots will always be in Maine.

Please join the family for a time of fellowship and reflection of a life well lived at a Memorial Service on July 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Port Orange United Church of Christ, located at 651 Taylor Rd. The burial will be private and held at a later date in Maine.
