Frederica H. McCafferty 82 of Ormond Beach Florida passed away peacefully May 1 2012 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Florida Hospital HospiceCare Daytona Beach. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday; May 8th at 11:00 am at Christ Presbyterian Church 1035 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Frederica graduated from Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland OH. She attended Chevy Chase Jr. College in Washington DC and Pennsylvania College of Women now known as Chatham College in Pittsburgh PA. She was a member of several bridge clubs the Junior League and a book club. She was an avid reader enjoyed traveling and will be lovingly remembered as a vibrant and loving women always putting others first. She was devoted to her family a great mother superior grandmother and a wonderful wife. She is survived by her husband of 62 years William McCafferty MD Ormond Beach her son Michael McCafferty MD and his wife Maryann of Louisville KY her daughter Nancy Currid and her husband John of Charlotte NC five grandchildren Casie (Paul) Kichler Allison (John) Buth Elizabeth (Shelby) Bowen Lt. David Currid US Army and William McCafferty as well as four great-grandchildren Emma Kichler Michael Kichler Savannah Buth and Jackson Bowen.
