Fred W. "Speedy" Krantz, Jr.
Fred W. "Speedy" Krantz, Jr., 70, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Born on October 10, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, Fred's family later settled in Holly Hill, Florida, where he grew up and graduated from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach.
While working as a Building Manager in Palm Coast, Fred founded Krantz Gutters more than 30 years ago, building it into a trusted family-owned and operated business known for its quality workmanship, honesty, and dedication to serving the community. Today, that legacy lives on as the business is proudly carried on by his family.
Outside of work, Fred loved spending time with his family, traveling, and enjoying vintage cars and motorcycles. One of his favorite adventures was touring car shows and races throughout England and France, combining his love of travel with his lifelong passion for cars. He also cherished traveling with his family, especially the memories they made together in Italy.
Family was the center of Fred's life. He had a smile that could light up any room, a laugh that was unforgettable, and a personality that naturally drew people in. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He was always ready with one of his famous "Dad jokes," usually followed by a grin as he waited for the inevitable groan and eye roll.
Fred and Tracey shared a beautiful love story. They were each other's greatest supporter, best friend, and constant source of strength. If Tracey was happy, Fred was happy, and vice versa. Their love was evident to everyone who knew them.
Later in life, Fred came to know the Lord, finding a faith that brought him hope and peace. His family finds comfort knowing they will one day be reunited with him.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Krantz; daughters, Sabrina L. Krantz and Gina M. Douglass (Michael Douglass); sister, Cindy Whited (F.K. Whited III); grandson, Miles Douglass; nephews, Kanan Whited IV and Cade Wahial; niece, Whitney Whited-Smith; great-nephew, Kanan T. Smith; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Patricia Krantz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Fred's honor.
