Fred "Don" Carl Jr. Born on June 22 1931 he passed away peacefully November 18 2011. A celebration of life will be held on November 29 2011 at 11:00 A.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred D. and Lillie Carl and son John David Carl. He is survived by his wife Eleanor of 60 years his daughter Cindy (Terry) Graessle his daughter-in-law Donna Carl. His sisters; Sue Kay (John) Miller Valree (Andy) Alverez. His sister-in-law Edna Mae Tibbits and four grandchildren Ben (Brandi) Graessle Katy Graessle Paige and Gaby Carl and many nieces and nephews.

Don was a 1949 graduate of Marion High School in Marion Indiana and a 1953 graduate of Ball State University. Upon graduation from college he served two years in the United States Army. Upon honorable discharge he began his 39 years of banking with First National Bank in Marion Indiana. He was with Merchants National Bank for 17 years and then he went on to Alpena Savings Bank in Alpena Michigan as president and CEO selling to First of America Bank Corporation. He ended his career as Chairman of the Board CEO and President of First America Bank of Bay City Michigan.

He was always active in every community he lived and belonged to several organizations. Don loved all sports especially anything to do with Indiana University. He enjoyed basketball football golf tennis down hill skiing and water skiing. He loved retirement especially boating around Lake Wawasee Syracuse Indiana. He was a proud member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church in Port Orange FL.
