Frank S. Pehr 85 beloved husband of his sweetheart Irene Crochetiere Pehr to whom he was married 67 years passed away peacefully on March 12 2010. Frank was born on May 26 1924 in Manhattan NY. As a young man he proudly served our country in the US Army in WWII. After returning from the service he worked as an apprentice carpenter and later opened his own businesses Pehr Designed Kitchens and Pehr Construction Company both located in Cheshire CT. After thirty years in business he and his wife retired to Ormond Beach FL. He was a member and past President of the Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus in Cheshire CT as well as a member of the Rotary Club in Ormond Beach. After retiring Frank worked for several years as an office worker at his son's business in Ormond Beach. In his spare time he could often be found volunteering with the Ormond branch of "Meals on Wheels" playing golf or working around his house. His past co-workers will remember him as being a "fair and honest" man which is something he would be proud of. His family will remember him most for his generosity and big heart and he will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Irene; children Frank J. and his wife Susan Pehr Irene Pehr Janet Pehr Susan Biron Nancy and husband Norman Lemonik Rosemary and husband Paul Voegeli Teresa Pehr John and his wife Tina Pehr and son-in-law William Callahan. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Elizabeth Callahan. He also leaves twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; three sisters Mary (Mitzi) Pfluger Theresa Pfluger and Florence Bessenhoffer. He was pre-deceased by two sisters and three brothers. There will be a private memorial Mass for the family. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Frank and his pre-deceased daughter Elizabeth Callahan to the American Cancer Society.
