Funeral Services for Frank J. Sylvester 63 of Port Orange will be held at 12 noon today Monday December 31 2007 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange with a visitation for family and friends from 10 a.m. to 12 prior to the service. Frank was born on July 12 1944 and moved to the area 8 years ago from Marlboro NY. He earned a masters degree in Electrical Engineering and retired from IBM Fishkill NY. Frank's greatest enjoyment was to spend time with his family and his wife Kathy; they were the hosts of many family gatherings and parties. At any gathering he was the center of attention for all the children who loved his humor compassion and wit. His influence will be ever present in the lives of all his nieces nephews grand nieces and grand nephews. Frank enjoyed and was an avid collector of Doo Wop and 50's music. He had an amazing love of all sorts of animals especially his beloved Boston Terriers Tige and Fergie. His hobbies included being a player/manager of the IBM softball team dog sitting for Buchie Nickie Trixie and Buck. He was also a loyal member of St. Luke's Anglican Church of Port Orange. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Kathleen "Kathy" Sylvester of Port Orange; his loving mother Concetta Sylvester of Daytona Beach; brother Anthony Sylvester of Mendham NJ; sisters Jo Ann Brophy of New Windsor NY and Maria Mekeel of Chapel Hill NC; stepchildren Richard and Christopher Mason and godchildren Ron Brophy Jr. and Olivia Sylvester nieces nephews great nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Sylvester's honor to St. Luke's Anglican Church 815 Taylor Rd. Port Orange or Halifax Humane Society 2364 W. LPGA Boulevard Daytona Beach.
