Funeral Mass for Francis Sweeney of Ormond Beach will be held Thursday January 19 2006 at 9:30am at the Saint Brendan Catholic Church. Father John Ryan will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday January 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Francis was born in Montpelier Vermont to the late Francis and Dorothy Sweeney. He attended the Columbia Prep school in Washington DC prior to attending West Point Academy. Francis was employed for 35 years at United Technologies Hamilton Standard in management for aircraft products. He was a member of the Hamilton Standard Management Club. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends at the Copper Hill Country Club in East Granby CT. He was an avid reader. After his retirement in 1986 he and his wife moved from Suffield CT to make their home in Ormond Beach. He is survived by his wife Julie Wilson sons Daniel and wife Valerie of Somers CT Francis of Suffield CT Gregory of Hillsboro OR Jeffrey of Schumberg IL daughter- in- law Kimberly Davis brother Frederick Sweeney of Avon CT sisters Charlene Berg and husband Robert of Brunswick ME Jacqueline Reichenbach and husband Donald of Cape Coral FL five grandchildren Desiree Sweeney Jennica Frink Melanie Jeffrey Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
