Francis Melody, 69, of Ormond Beach Florida passed away peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice, Daytona Beach. Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

He was born June 1, 1951 in Szony, Hungary to Ferenc and Rozalia Herceg-Falvi. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and rose to the rank of Warrant Officer. He also served with the Daytona Beach Police Department from 1971-1993, retiring as a Lieutenant. He then went on to service with the Volusia County Sheriff's office from 1994-1998.

He was Catholic and a member of the Kentucky Colonels. He was an avid photographer, loved traveling and relaxed watching a good movie and TV.

Survivors include his daughter Elizabeth Bank and her husband Richard of Atlanta, Georgia, and his son Francis Melody of Daytona Beach and Francis Sr.'s girlfriend, Carol Fletcher of Orange City, Florida as well as by two grandchildren, Sabrina and Noah Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferenc and Rozalia Herceg-Falvi.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, March 17 ^th at 1:00 pm at St. Peters Catholic Church 359 West New York Avenue, Deland, Florida. Memorial Contributions may be made in  memory to;  Fallen officer's Memorial at https://nleomf.org/memorial
