Frances Bagby Savas 77 of Pine Forest Trail in Port Orange died one minute after midnight on Sunday August 19th at Halifax Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia to Anne and Thomas Bagby she moved to this area in 1965 from Virginia. She retired in 1992 as a secretary from the Volusia County Health Dept. While a wonderful wife and mother she always managed to find time to care for other people. She volunteered at St Paul's Catholic Church school lunch programs was a runner for church bingo evenings and worked with children who were mentally challenged. Frances was a member of the Palmetto Women's Club enjoyed cross-stitch needle point and other past times included traveling and bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Chris her daughter Kimberly Hunt of Milton FL. 2 sons; Timothy Scott of South Daytona and James Pollard of Warner Robins GA. a sister Estelle Gillikin of Virginia Beach VA. 5 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 24th at 11 am in the Basilica of St Paul for Frances. Her family will receive friends in the church from 10 till time of Mass.
