Frances Virginia Mason Olds, age 87 of Edgewater, FL crossed from death into new life loving her Lord and Savior. On September 10, 2016 surrounded by family she left this life for an eternal future and met Jesus face to face.
Born on September 29th, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio, Frances was the daughter of the late Clayton Mason and Evelyn A Kreager. She was raised on her family's farm in Gratiot, Ohio, attended Nursing school following her graduation from Hopewell Rural High School in 1945, and moved down to Florida with her family of 5 in the early 1950s. Frances retired after 30 years of faithful service to Volusia County Schools working as a librarian, media specialist, book-keeper, and assistant to the Principal, working the last 20 at New Smyrna Beach (Junior High) Middle School. An active contributing member to the community, Frances helped to establish and organize the Edgewater Volunteer Emergency Rescue (EVER), volunteering as President for multiple years and as an EMT, helping to save countless lives. She was also an active member of First Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach and will be greatly missed by her Joy Sunday School class and the congregation as a whole.
Frances is survived by her loving children, Dr. Philip Clayton Kincaid, Sr. (wife Julie), Sharon Ann Kincaid Read (husband Thomas), Gerald Allen Kincaid (wife Debbie), grandchildren Jennifer (Read) Murie, Joel Read, Philip Kincaid, Jr, Nicole (Read) Zimmerman, Kevin Kincaid, 9 Great Grand Children, Aunts Helen (Kreager) Hoskinson & Trudy (Kreager) Kondrath, and step children Kathi (Olds) Slayton, Dr. David Olds, Barbara (Ragsdale) Hinkel, Wendy (Ragsdale) Hayek, Margaret Ragsdale, & Beth (Ragsdale) Barnes.
She is preceded in death by loving husband Robert Olds, husband Robert Ragsdale,and brother, Carroll Mason.
Frances will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. We wish to thank all the members of her Vitas Hospice team for their wonderful care of our mother and friend.
Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, New Smyrna Beach at 10 am September 14, 2016.
