Frances Perry Newton 79 of Port Orange passed away on Tuesday October 6th 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange. Frances was born on November 3rd 1929 to Sydney and Hazel Perry in Wilkinsburg PA. Frances was a graduate of Douglass College and Rutgers University where she received her Masters in Library Sciences. She worked for Wagner College and the New York State public school system as a Librarian. Some of Frances's greatest professional achievements include the publishing of two Bibliographical Indexes of American Imprints from the early 1800's by the Scarecrow press in Blue Ridge PA. Frances married her loving husband of 55 years Rev Howard Newton on June 26 1954. Survivors include Husband Rev Howard Newton of Port Orange son Bruce (Wendy) of Portland OR daughter Lisa Garris (Bruce) Wilmington NC and grandchildren Elissa and Andrew Newton. Frances is preceded in death by her parents and son Wayne Stuart. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the memory of Frances to the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange or The New Smyrna Beach Artificial Kidney Center.
