Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Frances Joan McCabe of Ormond Beach, Florida on October 1, 2026, at the age of 73.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Patrick; her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Kaley; her brothers, Richard and Joseph Otterstedt and their families; and her nieces Theresa Arroyo and Rosalie Villecco and their family. She will also be dearly missed by her friends and coworkers from Florida Healthcare Plans.

In her passing, Fran joins her parents, Jacob and Dorothy Otterstedt; brother, Charles Otterstedt; and sisters, Elois Navarra and Jaqueline Cidlowski.

Fran was born on March 12, 1953, in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York. She began working at an early age and then graduated from Suffolk Community College. With her new degree, she moved into the insurance industry, where she quickly rose from a clerical position to claims processor, department supervisor and consultant with Met Life, Vytra, United Health Care, and Florida Health Care Plans. Fran had an enduring love for all things Disney, which led her and her family to move to Florida in 2004 where she spent many vacations at The Magic Kingdom with her son and husband. She also was a big NASCAR fan and visited Daytona International Speedway annually for many years to attend the races with her family.

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the family will be receiving friends during the visitation hours of 11:30am to 1:30pm. Afterwards, there will be a celebration of Fran’s life, and a memorial funeral mass at 1:30pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

Fran was a wonderful, loving, and one-of-a-kind mother, wife, sister, and friend and her light and love will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
