Frances spent much of her childhood and adult years in various communities in Ohio before retiring to Ormond by the Sea Florida in the mid 60's where she has lived more than 40 years. A retired teacher Frances taught at the Ohio Soldiers' and Sailors' Orphans' Home for over 30 years. Frances was a writer quilter studied genealogy and loved cats. Even at 106 she was strong feisty and independent. When asked about her longevity she would laugh and attribute it to clean living and a large bowl of rolled oats every morning.
