Funeral Services with Military Honors for Forest J. May age 84 of New Smyrna Beach FL will be held on Friday March 31 2006 at 2 PM in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Forest was born April 26 1921 in Waukegan Illinois to Forest L. & Ruth Yenning May. Mr. May joined the US Army and fought in the Pacific Campaign of WWII. He was wounded in combat on more than one occasion and left the service as a Combat Disabled Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and of the V.F.W. Mr. May made his living as a carpenter. In 1979 he left Waukegan and moved with his family to Florida where he resided until passing away on March 28 2006 at the Bridgeview Center in Ormond Beach FL. Mr. May will be interred in Florida National Veteran?s Cemetery in Bushnell FL. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 64 years Irene of New Smyrna FL; sons Larry May of Gurnee IL & Randy May of New Smyrna; daughters Barbara Kurtz of Ft. Myers FL Sharon Jackson of Hinckley IL & Candy Jackson of Haperville IL; brother Harold May of Waukegan; 5 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.
