After a series of strokes Florene Linton Travers age 87 died on August 7 2011 at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge Florida. Born April 8 1924 in Aspen MD Florene was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Elizabeth Linton nine of her fifteen siblings her husband John W. Travers Jr. and youngest son Wayne. She is survived by sons John W. Travers III and Stanley E. Travers; daughters Joan E. Ericksen and A. Ruth Owens; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and six siblings. A devoted wife mother and career woman after retiring from Andrews AFB MD she ""Airstreamed"" across the United States with husband John driven by their son Wayne and eventually settled in Harbor Oaks FL in the fall of 1979. Florene was a faithful member of Rock Church in Port Orange and since 2004 East Coast Christian Church in Merritt Island Florida. We will celebrate her life at Cardwell Funeral Home 3571 S Ridgewood Avenue Port Orange FL August 12 viewing at 11:30 AM memorial service at 1 PM.
