Florence Downes 87 of Ormond Beach passed away November 2 2008. A memorial mass is scheduled for Friday November 14th at 2:00 pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach. Florence was born February 27 1921 to Henry and Hedvig Anderson in New Rochelle NY. She spent her career as a clerk in the telecommunications industry and moved to Florida in 1982. She will be remembered fondly as a loving mother and devoted parishioner and member of the choir at Prince of Peace. Florence was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Carl Downes. Surviving are her son Carl (Deborah) Downes of Boynton Beach FL and daughters Linda Downes and Helen Delany both of New Rochelle. Florence is also survived by her sister Helen Rabasco of New Rochelle. Three grandchildren also survive: Rachel Downes of New York City Eric Downes of Boynton Beach and Donald Delany of Oregon.
