Felix V. Reyes, 90, passed away November 13, 2013. Mr. Reyes was born in Puerto Rico in 1920. He was drafted for WWII in 1945. After serving his country and being honorably discharged, he moved to New York City where he worked hard to take care of his mother and eight siblings. Not very long afterwards he married Laura Reyes and fathered four children - Hilda, Migdalia, Lillian and Felix Jr. Along with his wife he also fathered many foster children, and cared for the elderly.

He was the epitome of hard working, starting off as a laborer in factories and eventually becoming an entrepreneur in owning his own cab medallion, food stand, barber shop, clothing store and candy store. Felix was a staple in his community and eventually went on to become a pastor, graduating with honors from the Latin American Bible Institute in 1961.

He enjoyed fixing and restoring things others would have written off as broken or unusable. He also enjoyed working on cars. He was a constant helper; even waking at the break of dawn to assist the garbage men with the neighbor's garbage three houses before and after his own. He enjoyed assisting others and blessing people in whatever fashion he could. He and his wife Laura would often open their doors to provide food and shelter for complete strangers.

He is survived by his four sisters, one brother, four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Visitation in his honor will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast from 11:30am-1:30pm. Funeral Service will begin at 1:30pm in the Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Craig Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
